Waiting for a new game is always tough, especially after seeing a lot of enticing things on offer in the trailers for Battlefield 4. As the first Battlefield game to be released on next-gen consoles, Battlefield 4 is going head-to-head with Call of Duty: Ghosts by offering their own equivalent of dynamic maps: a multiplayer level design feature dubbed ‘Levolution’ that creates ongoing changes within the game environment.
Until Battlefield 4 is released, however, fans of the series are just going to have to subsist on details and gameplay footage, which luckily are in abundance. Alternatively, it will soon be possible to sign up for the Battlefield 4 beta, which allows players to explore the “Siege of Shanghai” map and get a hands-on taste of the game. At the same time, beta participants will be providing useful feedback to DICE that can be implemented before the full release.
The Battlefield 4 open beta will be available to Battlefield 3 premium members, registered owners of Medal of Honor Warfighter Limited Edition or Deluxe Edition, and those who have already pre-ordered Battlefield 4 on October 1st. For everyone else, the beta will be available to download on October 4th.
Another video details some of the customization options that will be available in-game. These include a whole library of weapon customization options to ensure that whichever gun the player is holding will be best suited to their approach, whether that means applying a more ergonomic grip, switching out the default iron sights for a red dot sight, or changing the paint so that the gun has flames up the sides like those shirts that were extremely cool in the nineties.
